Tim and Dan Riordan

Our coaching team consists of two brothers, Dan and Tim Riordan, who serve not only as coaches but also as practitioners. They are both active in ministry leadership in their churches and serve to help other church leaders strengthen their ministries. As certified consultants through Natural Church Development, they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from over eighty-five years of combined ministry.

Tim Riordan has been in ministry for over 40 years and has served in a variety of positions including student pastor, minister of music, minister of education and administration, and senior pastor. He received his doctorate in Church Health/Church Growth from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author of several books and serves as the lead pastor of SonRise Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia.

Dan Riordan has served churches for over forty-five years in both music and education roles He received his Masters of Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and currently services as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Cairo, Georgia.

The Natural Church Development (NCD) Church Health Survey has been an invaluable resource for First Baptist Church in Cairo, Georgia, as we seek to strengthen and grow our ministry. Rather than focusing solely on numbers, NCD provides a biblical and practical approach to measuring church health, using eight essential characteristics of a thriving congregation.
When First Baptist Church in Cairo took the NCD Survey, it provided clear, data-driven insights into our ministry's strengths and weaknesses. However, the data we received from the survey was overwhelming at first. Still, Tim and Dan's expertise and guidance were paramount in helping us navigate this process and identify the best place to start. Our lowest-scoring area was Effective Structures, which revealed that we have been trying to function with outdated structures that are not in line with the current needs of our congregation and our community. We discovered that we have been doing things a certain way because that is how we have always done those things. Our church also provided the companion devotional and prayer guide, 30 Days to Spiritual Health, thirty days before the small group took the survey to allow our congregation to assess and strengthen their personal spiritual lives.
